Prison Revival Report
Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex
Revival takes place once a year and this has been our 6th time of participating. It is a true blessing and honor to minister to the men, by providing them with worship, encouragement, the gospel and prayer. This year 21 volunteers from different churches attended and 6 of those volunteers represented Central Parkway. God has given the group favor in allowing us to go directly to their "turf" or their "courts" and witness to them. At 1:00 p.m. we went through the gates entered their "turf". Some were playing football, dominos, cards, baseball or just sitting around. The group was divided by two's and we proceeded to approach the men. The majority of the men are cordial, receptive, attentive, respectful and hungry to hear what we had to say. We asked if they needed us to pray about a specific need in their lives, if they needed Bibles or if they knew Jesus. Most of the time they asked us to pray for their families especially their parents. Where ever the Spirit led us we did it with boldness and love. In my team, we spoke to about 50 men. Out of the 50 men, many knew Jesus and were saved. It is important to add that many of the men are Christians and are living for Jesus and sharing the Word of God in prison, therefore we not only go to the unsaved, but also for our brothers who are incarcerated and need encouragement to continue serving God and staying faithful and obedient to the Lord.
For 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m, we witnessed encouraged and many lives were touched. Revival service started at 7:00 p.m. and to our surprise many attended the service which were about 130 men, which is a lot. Pastor Art Beasley preached a message on "Fear:. Many men came forward for prayer and salvation. God did amazing things in their lives as well as ours. When you look at the faces of the men and witness the sadness, the desperation, loneliness and you begin to speak the Word of God into their lives, its is amazing how their resemblance begins to change and transform right before your eyes, and that …. is worth the trip. We thank all of you for your prayers, which is the back bone of this ministry.
